Trick or Treaters Welcome!

Halloween is a celebrated BIG in Hulen Heights! We welcome trick or treators from all over the area to our safe neighborhood with our sidewalks and generous neighbors. Be certain to leave your porch lights on if you will be passing out candy. Have PLENTY of candy and non-candy treats for kids and the many teens who come for a night of fun. Some neighbors will have hot dogs. There will be haunted houses and lots of dogs dressed up and on leash. Our pool parking lot will be full of cars from people who drive from elsewhere and park. Be part of what makes Hulen Heights one of the best neighborhoods in Fort Worth.

HH Book Club is will meet at the home of Ruth Nickle to discuss “The Collected Regrets of Clover”. To join the book club, comtact Ruth or comment on the event on the Facebook event.

Winners of the Halloween Decorating Contest will be Announced on the Facebook Group and an Announcement sent via Email to Hulen Heights Residents. Look for signs in the yard of the winners and photos on our website.

Bring the whole family to Pool Amenity Center for the Annual Fall Festival. There will be Games, Inflatables, Sweet & Salty Treats and Candy Galore! Costumes encouraged. Stay tuned for more details. Neighborhood Wide Garage Sale in Hulen Heights HOA on Saturday October 14th from 8am-4pm. Residents will host individual sales in the driveways of their homes. Hulen Heights is off of Columbus Trail south on Ocean Drive, Silveridge Dr, Songbird Lane and Hosta Way. Neighbors do not need to register to participate, but to be included in the map of the neighborhood please indicate you are participating on the Facebook Event post.

Meet in front of the Hulen Heights Swim Center for our annual celebration of National Night Out. Meet our neighborhood NPO Officer Percy Holland. There will be fun, games, door prizes, pizza and an opportunity to meet your neighbors. Everyone is encouraged to leave your porch light on this evening and spend time in your front yard getting to know your neighbors.

What is National Night Out? National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. National Night Out is designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness. Texas and several other locations celebrate in October when the weather is cooler. Take advantage of a unique opportunity to engage with our Neighborhood Police Officers at the second Dialogue & Dessert. Space is limited to the first 40 Hulen Heights neighbors who rsvp on the Facebook event or email Susan Turner. Attendees will also have an opportunity to submit questions ahead of time to our NPOs.

We want to invite you to a Crime Watch training that will be on Thursday, September 7th at 6:30 pm at the Chisholm Trail Community Center, 4936 McPherson Blvd. 

 

Goals of the Crime Watch training include:

• Organizing and or renewing Crime Watch in your neighborhood

• Develop strong neighbor relations

• Educating neighbors to be more alert in recognizing suspicious activities and taking the appropriate actions

• Implementing other crime deterrents programs and basic security measures

• Contribute to the reduction of residential burglaries through active participation in Crime Watch
